Thomas Teye Partey, who is commonly known as Thomas Partey, is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League side Arsenal and the Ghana national team.

Career

In 2013, Partey began his professional career at Atlético Madrid, where he was loaned to fellow Spanish clubs Mallorca and Almería in the following years.

Thomas signed with Mallorca on loan from Atletico Madrid on 12th July. His professional debut came on 18th August, when he started in a 2–2 draw with Hercules at home; he scored his team’s second goal.

In 2014, he joined La Liga side Almeria on loan. He made his competitive debut in a home game against Espanyol, starting the game and helping his team secure a 1–1 draw.

Early in 2015, he scored his first goals in the top tier of Spanish football with a brace in a 3–0 home victory over Granada.

Partey signed a contract extension with Atlético Madrid on February 14, 2017. On October 31, he scored his first UEFA Champions League goal, a long-range strike to level the score in a 1–1 draw against Qaraba. He became the first African to score in the competition for Atlético.

Partey came on as a late replacement and scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of Atlético Madrid’s 3–2 win over Eibar on 1 September 2019. He made his 100th La Liga appearance for Los Rojiblancos four weeks later in a 0–0 draw against Real Madrid in the Madrid derby.
